FAQs - Compare Debt Solutions

There’s no “best” option just the best fit. Each solution works for different financial situations. We’ll help you figure out which is safest and most effective for you.

No. Talking to us or assessing your options won’t touch your file. We only run a credit check with your permission and only if you apply for a solution.

A Part IX is a formal agreement to repay debts without going bankrupt. Bankruptcy is more serious, involves asset risk, and is listed longer on your record.

We won’t let that happen. Our job is to explain each option fully and recommend the safest one, before you commit.

Yes. Many people start informally and move to a formal agreement if needed. We'll guide you through every stage.

Some solutions have fees, but we explain every cost upfront and most plans are paid through your repayments (not upfront).

No. None of the solutions Debt Fix offers involves going to court. Bankruptcy is a separate legal process administered by AFSA, which Debt Fix does not provide.

Yes. We support clients from every state, all services available by phone or online. We are available in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, Tasmania, South Australia and Australian Capital Territory.

That depends on the solution and your lender. We can guide you on the future impact of each option.

Debt Agreements typically last 3–5 years. Informal plans are flexible. Loans vary by lender. Bankruptcy is 3 years minimum.

A Part X is a formal option for people with high debt and high income. It’s similar to a Debt Agreement but has different legal terms.
