Debt Value: $72,000
Over the past year, I have faced significant financial hardship following a traumatic incident of domestic violence that completely disrupted my life. As a result, I was forced to move out of my home. For two months, I stayed with a friend while trying to find stable accommodation and had to place all of my belongings in storage. Unfortunately, I was later asked to move out again, leaving me in an unstable living situation. During this difficult period, I took out several loans to cover basic living costs and other urgent expenses, not fully realizing the impact the high interest rates and short repayment terms would have on my finances. My situation worsened when my daughter became seriously ill and was in and out of the hospital for an extended period. She also developed severe mental health issues, which led to child safety authorities becoming involved, as she was no longer able to care for her son. He was then placed in a short term emergency placement and was at risk of being placed into foster care, and I could not let that happen. I made the decision to leave my job and become his full-time carer to provide him with a stable home as he has nobody except for me. As a result, my financial position deteriorated further. Despite these challenges, I am determined to meet my obligations and repay my debts to the best of my ability. I do not wish to declare bankruptcy and am seeking a debt agreement as a fair and realistic way to regain control of my finances and move forward positively.
